Commercial Photographer

Dick Smolinski, Photographer

As a kid, Dick would hang around the art department at the advertising agency where his dad was creative director. Often getting under foot, he was assigned small graphic projects to keep him busy… waxing type galleys, shooting stats and setting headlines on the typositor. Once he was sent out with the staff photographer as an assistant (he carried the tripod) to shoot an ad for Bic in New Haven.  Fast forward to 1980, he opened his studio doors for business.

Teresa Smolinski, Studio Manager

Teresa joined the studio as manager in 1989.  A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Business, Teresa found her passion as an entrepreneur when Dick convinced her she didn’t need to work for any one else!  In 2006, she helped the girls launch their own business selling pre-wrap.  Now an empty nester, she splits her time between the studio and the business, while still finding time to chase after the girls’ college volleyball games.  Want to talk business?  You found the right person!

A chance meeting at a party for graphic designers brought Lisa and Dick together talking shop.  Lisa’s passion for her craft, her outgoing personality and her boundless energy were irresistible.  When you meet Lisa, you feel as if you’ve known her your whole life.  Her smile is infectious, her laugh is contagious and she’ll make you feel right at home in front of the camera.
